How Can I Get ivvi Through Access to Work
The Access to Work grant is a fantastic resource for individuals with dyslexia or ADHD in the UK workplace. Its available if you're self-employed, full time, part-time, and for every type of work. If you notice dyslexia or ADHD interfering with daily work tasks like organisation, emails, or note-taking during meetings, you can apply for this grant and use some of it to fund 3 years of ivvi.
What are the five stages of Access to Work?
- Apply.
- Be assessed.
- Receive the award.
- Arrange training.
- Pay for the approved services.
ivvi offers moral support and guidance at each stage.
How can ivvi help with the application?
- A 30-minute Zoom meeting to help complete the application form.
- Guidance on explaining how dyslexia affects work.
- Support for the employer’s HR and Finance teams.
- Mind-mapping training.
- Referrals to reputable speech-to-text and text-to-speech providers.
A formal dyslexia assessment is not required for the application. Explain how dyslexia affects your working life.
What might an Access to Work grant include?
- Speech-to-text software: around £600, plus £275 training
- Text-to-speech software: £405, plus £275 training
- Mind-mapping software: £405, plus £275–£405 training
- Twelve one-to-one coaching sessions: £1,120
The final award is based on need.
What happens after I receive the award?
Once the award letter is received, the applicant can buy the recommended software, hardware and training from providers of their choice. ivvi offers mind-mapping training and guidance on other providers.
